what do they wear like  I dont want something which is illegal after 10k, ideal 15k+ would be great that would bring me down to 2 sets front and rear a year  :lipsrsealed:

If wear is the issue try Michelin Primacy's.  Not the sportiest of tyre but still excellent grip in the wet as well as dry and I got 20k easily out of them on my mk4 1.8T.  Due to the torque and weight of the derv you might not do as well but probably better than anything else.

Being michelins they aint cheap though.  Standard GTI 16" were something in the region of £140 a corner IIRC.

i had Primacy's on my 16's - picked them up for £70 a corner though   got 19K out of one pair!! and the performance far exceeded the Falkens.  Weird how the MK5's seem to perform ok and the MK4 doesn't  :undecided:

not sure if you can get them in 18's though  :undecided:
