If the engine is tired, i'd look out for a better low milage one and work on getting that up on BHP, but it is only one option to consider.

Good luck even finding another 1.6 GL engine lol.

all good ideas. But the one that seems more effective, is to sell it and buy a 16v gti? Its just its not the easiest thing to sell your car and get the right price. I think i will do that in the near future, plus i'd see a major boost in my insurence :(

i just got quoted on a company on money supermarket call SALAAM they quoed me £290 fully comp an includes break down, window screen cover , another car if i break down and a 2nd driver and a £100 excess. worth shopping around i av only been driving 6 yrs
