Fiscon bluetooth kit
« on: 29 July 2009, 19:36 »
Bought the Fiscon Basic Plus kit yesterday, arrived today, took twenty mins to fit myself and my local garage with VAG.com 2 minutes to activate it.

Synced with my iphone straight away and has provided an awesome fully integrated solution, very happy!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for bluetooth.

hmmm... confused here.  the other thread i was reading led me to believe that the MFSW buttons wouldn't work with an after market kit.

would be good to see the pics.

how much did it cost for the unit and then how much for the installation?

also - doesn't it invalidate the warranty?!

The functions on the right side of the steering wheel operate the phone.  I paid £290 for the kit and fitted it myself for free in hardly no time.  Someone with vag.com will need to tick the phone box. Warranty? It's plug and play, my understanding is that if you don't start cutting and soldering stuff then you should be fine plus this kit os from Kufatec and I believe they are an OEm supplier to VW?

Here's a few pics:
This is where I have installed the mic, just behind the door seal rubber.

No the right.  I have my iphone plugged in playing my tunes and when a call comes in the music goes off and I just press the middle OK button to answer on the right side of the MFSW.  The clarity of the call is fantastic.

good stuff

linking the iphone for both tunes and as a phone is brilliant!

that said, i do want to use the buttons on the left since i don't like the idea of redundant buttons.  OCD?  Me?  Never!

The seamlessness is awesome........

Tools I needed to fit it: 1 x regular eating knife (nice round blunt end to remove the fascia around the head unit), 1 x torx key to undo the four bolts that hold the head unit in (can't remember the exact torx size), some bubble wrap around the blue tooth box to stop any rattling behind the head unit and a couple of zip ties for the mic lead under the steering wheel. It really was ridiculously simple.
