help needed to identify missing part
« on: 29 July 2009, 15:28 »
Hi folks, when I first got my GTi a couple of years ago the accelerator cable had been slack... because there is a bit of trim/washer missing which should go where the hole is for the cable to run through.

You can see in the photo below that there is an old ring around where the accelerator cable threads through the metal work (where the white cable tie runs down). I have bodged it with cables ties for the last 2 years lol, but probs time to get that missing part! Without the cable tie, the blue section of the cable goes through the hole, hence the slackness.

Anyone know what it is I need? what it's called? part number?

yeh it looks like that's pretty much what goes there. Just need a name/part number so I don't look a fool trying to describe it at VW lol

Would appreciate it very much if you could have a look tomorrow.
