Hi all, I posted here some months back about hunting down a 1.8T Passat. Well, the good news is that I got one (a beauty, by the way) in Sutton Coldfield in March this year, but the bad news is that I still haven't been able to register the thing at my home address in Belfast!! I'm sure you can guess the answers I'm getting when I ring round to try to sort this out - everyone says it's everyone else's fault/different systems used for Northern Ireland and the mainland etc...
I wouldn't mind all of this if I felt I was getting somewhere, but I feel I'm no closer than I was at the start. Worst thing is I can't tax it without the reg documents so the tax has been expired since the end of July.
I've faxed a complaint to Swansea (Export Section) today to follow up a previous faxed request in early August after a load of irate phone calls. What I would really like to know is, has anyone else had this problem before and managed to get it done? Does anyone know anyone else who works in Swansea Dept. of Transport who could possibly help?
I'm at the end of my tether here, so any help would be gratefully received!!
