Got my golf! :D
« on: 29 July 2009, 00:08 »
got my golf, will be posting a few pics up soon, just wanted to let you know, it has excedded my standards so far! considering its rated at 75hp new it certainly is nippy even as a 5door, worth the extra £500 in insurance :D

Its smart, gonna get the niggles sorted (just a little bit of paint needs redoing and a tiny dink sorted :D)

apart form that it looks and sounds brilliant :), doesnt go like stink but shifts compared to my 1.2l corsa :)

Insruance my insurance on this is only 1900 a year but after a year im gonna drop a new lump into it :) I dont want something too powerful  just yet, I need to get used to the power as it is, I know if i had a GTi as much as I would respect to power I would abuse it and dont want to pay any prices, the ultimate being a life, I would rather trus myself and wean myself.

Just my ideas, but still the engine  block looks the same as my mates mk2 scirroco his is a 1.8 but he has the edge on me and his is carb, webbers though but he said its done nothing too it yet!

any performance upgrades you can reccomend?

Currently running with...

Spax £300 shocks and springs
K&N Induction Kit
205/50 17's
Full Stainless steel exhaust system.

Mint condition 92,000 on the clock and its a perfect runner!

Hi, stand what your saying . i brought my 16v gti last year for £995 with full service history with only 103'000 on the clock still standard for now ;-) not for long tho love golf have had an 8v and a 16v now 16v are the best unless you can afford to run  a bigger engine but each to there own am a bit ofa noob tho to all this if it was mine i would say, kent cam's, i think they call it a ported polished head ,you can modifie the standard air box that what am doing to mine the skys the limit depends how deep your pockets are as i was told lol

If you want to put a VR6 your best bet is to get a donor car as you need a lot more then you think plus insurance will be a lot more than a factory car as it will be classed as a conversion.
