my gear changes felt very smooth 2wks ago when i first bought the car now they seem to feel like it grabs when i go to put the car in first and2nd and 3rd feel hard to get in and no smooth at all any ideas guys?
car is 1.9 gti diesel 150bhp

Could be dodgy gear linkages if 3rd/4th are difficult to select. I had this on my car (liked to jump into 3rd rather than 5th)

they dont jump just feel so hard to get in like you have to fight a little to get them in

4things . either linkage is worn
selector is worn
clutch is almost f**ked being a diesel common as much
gears in the box are f**ked- very unlikely

forgot add u can feel it vibrate very bad on the clutch pedal was not there at first only just started as the gear thing has

Jeez if your clutch pedal is vibrating then there is a chance your clutch is on it's way out.
Something I fear of alot due to the cost
