MK6 GTI Day Light Running lights

Im confused by a couple of the posts on page 3 about DRL with the xenons on the GTI, is it simply the small little ~ type light below the main xenon thats on for DRL or are you saying the xenon is as well? Is that ~ light the DRL or side light? Im confused

Note the two styles of Xennons, I guess the dark style will be the final ones as one the IAA car. But what is the DRL on normal GTi Xennons then?

Resurrecting an old thread.

Has anyone with Xenons managed to turn the DRL's off?? I'm looking to do this asap so any advice would be good.

DRLs can be activated/deactivated by using the headlamp lever.

Ignition off. Lights to 'O'. Left turn on indicator (down) while pulling back (flashing mainbeam), switch on ignition, hold for 4 seconds or so and you should here a beep. The DRLs are now off.

To reactivate is similar but you use Right turn on indicator (up) instead.

Hi snoopy. i saw that in the manual and on a search on here, but it doesn't seem to work. Just wondering if anyone had actually done it or not for xenons? Not sure if that makes a difference.

I switched them off on the demo car i had. I think thats was what i used. Did you hear the beep and did you have the light switch in off?

Yes, followed the instructions.

I'll give it another go tomorrow. car gets it's first coat of polish tomorrow also
