anyone know how to test the central locking im pretty sure the main controller/relay thingy is shot but i want to test the individual units in the doors and boot any that knows how to test them id appreciate it.

whatcar? mk2's are vacuum and you will therefore be leak testing and mk3's are electric (i think)

its mk2 and its all electric least i think it is there is no tubes or pumps that i can see just wires

in the drivers door is the actuator for the electric pneumatic pump in the boot, the other doors and boot all work on vacuum to lock and pressure to unlock, the pump is in the boot by the passenger rear light cluster in a foam padded thing

ok this must have been put in by previous owner as it has no pumps nothing i pulled the back apart and its for somekinda electrically operated system not pneumatic, might explain why it dont work :S

in which case just check all the connections and earths are sound and that the motors havent seized i suppose, bit hard to say as it appears to be aftermarket
