Just get it from the dealer, cheap enough.  Or at least ask them what they use and try http://www.gsfcarparts.com

they will 99% likely to give you quantum synta golf.......
fully synthetic vw oil! i think its 10w/40 or 5w/40 !

basicly you can use any semi or synthetic oil which is a good make and has api cf and acea b3 ratings........

not to mention vw 500.00 or 505.00 approvals!
those vw ratings may have been replaced by newer ones as they are upgraded all the time!

your manual should say what oil your engine needs!

........... as long as you use the top stuff you wont get black sludge or engine damage!

not forgetting to check it often! this is the ultimate engine wrecker!

ive seen and heard new cars which sound nackered!
ive seen an N reg honda with blue smoke banging out!
a mondaeo with a woman driving it i first i thought it was a diesel that much smoke was coming out of until i saw the 16v badge! lady neglect.......... i have also seen a vectra with smoke banging out of it!

i expect this will be more of a common sight on our roads!
not only does this mean the engines naff it also means some one has let the oil go neglect not checking it not changing it! and also means the cat converter will be on its way out soon and also it will fail the next mot! with a very expensive bill to put right! basicly new car time!

this is only when people learn.......... they learn the hard way! my first car went down this road! but it was nackered when i had it of my dad!

since then i have learned how important it is to check oil levels and make sure it doesnt drop below minimum! and also to change the oil! and use good oil!
