rear wiper has a mind of its own!!!

had my mk5 gti for about a month now and love it , but every so often the rear wiper comes on when i start the car and wont go off untill i turn it off again , its a 2005 55 plate, any body else had this problem???

Yep, had this.  Wiper motor replacement is the answer.

Mine does that its a pain in the ass!! Is it a big job to replace the motor?

not a big job. i removed my wiper all together, looks alot nicer imo.
u just take the inside cover off and there's 3 bolt's, and the wiper arm itself is bolted on

Not sure as I had it replaced under warranty.

Not a big job to replace the motor. Getting the trim back on afterwards however........

Takes about an hour.

The rear wiper can be a bit of a tow to get off too.

it didnt take me 5 mins to get the trim back on lol. there's a trick to get the wiper arm off too. remove the nut, then put it back on upside down (it has a washer-like underside) then you squeeze the nut towards the wiper arm with pliers and it just clicks itself loose.

no just at random times and it wont stop untill you turn the car off again
