Indeed, just wastes peoples time & petrol. It also annoys me when advertisers can't be arsed to say
more then several words in an advert!

Here's the advert in question;

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/VOLKSWAGEN+GOLF/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-13-29-240-4294966835-4294966886/advert.action?R=200931338883697&distance=7&postcode=br1+2wa&channel=CARS&make=VOLKSWAGEN&model=GOLF&min_pr=500&max_pr=2000&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=1997&vehicleRegLetter=P

Oh, almost forgot... It didn't even have leather/heated seats as it says in the listing. FFs lol.

I really would love a VR6 but it'd mean waiting a couple of months. :(

Anywho, i left a deposit on a very nice red 8v today with 110k on the clocks & electric everything, very pleased with it, although i think it may of had a Scorpion exhaust which was a nice burble but not sure i will stick with it.

1997, P reg. power steering, 3-door, 5-speed, central locking, electric windows, cd multiplay stereo, sunroof, alloys, service history, MoT January 2010, exceptional condition, superb runner. £795.

BTW will this exhaust improve performance slightly?

Haven't got a clue, what do i look for if i get under the car? And what's the safest way to get under the car at home, would a brick under each rear wheel be sufficient?

One last question what is the closest colour match Halfords do for the below red Golf please?

Ok thanks you lot. I'd really like a VR6 but thinking about it, it will cost more in fuel & insurance then
the 16v so i might as well get that.

Btw, i would of though the 1.8T would of been much much fast with that turbo, but i guess it's only 150bhp too.
Thanks for all the info.

Aint no quicker than an 8v or my mums Vectra, heavier, looks like a Golf Match until you style it.
Get the VR if you want a MK3 so you dont even have to think about the 8v/16v sh@te!
Corrado for handling
MK2 for Smug my car is a modern classic :lipsrsealed:
MK4 for R32 fun and 1.8t tunning madness
MK5 for something your wife can drive

Basicly buy what you want/can afford be happy its a VW and not French

I wanted the VR6 but would have to of waited a couple of months, so at least i have a car
to drive now & will probably chop it in for a VR6 in about 2 months, granted i can save & not
have to spend it on this 8v.

The 8v aint that bad tho, i had an MK4 8v & loved it, not fast but you're not always going fast.

I'm guessing £2000 would get me a very tidy one?
