It was a great link for people to read, and I completely agree that it was from an unbiased view. The more links to DW the better, there is so much good info available

agree on the links to DW being worthwhile and that link does contain a very good write up... but how likely is someone to do 5 passes on a car... by hand?!

uruk... i can see where you are coming from wrt AG SRP, however it does contain fillers as waxamomo pointed out... I'd want to know that if I was spending that long polishing a car that the swirls were gone and not just filled... otherwise all the ard work will be undone in a matter of days? non?

so guy, which polish then?  SRP is the one of choice for me, just cos i aint got that much time and a quick cover up is needed most fo the time for the missus's car.  Got some swirls that need to "go" though.

Completely agree and although its too late now I should have put the previous post into the correct context and think your point (Guy) about polish just being one step in the whole process is the most important point in this thread owing to the fact that a lot of people (untill recently myself included) didnt know anything about the differences between a polish, a sealer and a wax ! I appreciate I didnt do it in a very effective way but I was trying to show albeit in a rather extreme way just what the correct product applied in the correct way can do and all whilst being compared like for like against similar products

SRP is ok for what you say you use it for... it is just that a lot of people advocate for everything!

'my interior needs cleaning' - use some SRP mate
'my black trim is faded' - use some SRP mate
'my botty is dirty' - use some SRP mate!

i digress, if i am polishing by hand I prefer dodo lime prime, easy on/off and works a treat.. seems to last forever too... LP also doesn't contain oils so is a perfect base for waxes & sealants of your choice

this thread contains pichers of lime prime applied via a rotary with some great results.. the swirls have been removed and not just filled http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=127958

if i am swirlbusting with a machine polisher then I use either megs or menz final finish polishes... the menz polishes provide a good base for glazes then sealants then wax
