If you've never used clay before I would recommend the Megs quick clay kit, easy to use and not too aggressive.

Agreed, the Meg's Smooth Surface Clay Kit is the one to go for, it has everything you need to get going, have a look at the video at the bottom of this link:

I would recommend going for the Dodo Juice Lime Prime Polish:

And as for Pete's 53, it's a great wax, also have a quick look at Collinite 915, or for a bit more money some of the Dodo range:

And don't forget, if you place an order to use the Golfgtiforum discount code: gimme5

I know not everyon likes it and to be honest I used to think it was rubbish but now I know how to use it propperly I'm getting very good results with Autoglym Super resin polish. The only other thing I would add is that its best to put a coat of your chosen wax on as soon as you buff off the SRP

Yes I agree with above, AG SRP is a great polish.

Also consider, Dodo Juice Lime Prime and Poorboy's Professional Polish.

AG SRP is over rated imo.. i know others really rate it but its only a basic polish.

I used to use it when i first started trying to get a shine on a car instead of just washing dirt off... and I believe that as a first time product people see a result and then think it is remarkable, but having used many other products out there I think it is quite mediocre.

what people tend not to realise is that it is only part of the process and that preparation before washing and polishing and final application of sealant and waxes post polishing are equally important

If your in two minds after reading the above comments regarding which polish to use and how best to use it have a look at this test in which SRP was just one of the polish's tested (I'm posting this link as I dont think there is anything comparable on here)

Is it swirl removal your after? and by hand?

Although the link above is a great test, a great read, and obvisouly a great result for SRP, you must remember that this is from 5 hits!! Can you imagine how long it would take to do a whole car 5 times by hand with SRP. And after all that, all you have done is mask them, not removed any swirls at all.

I wasnt advocating that everything in that thread be followed to the letter I was trying to provide a way of seeing what a good polish when used propperly is capable of achieving in a unbiased test as oppose to people just airing their views on a product which only serves to inform the OP what products we do or dont like
