[}:)] I'm looking at getting a nitrous kit for my car, the zex dry type. I have a 1990, 1.8 8v golf gti digifant.
I was wanting to know if anyone has put nitrous on their car and if so how reliable was it?
Is there any mods i need to do first, zex says its fine on a stock engine but i want to make sure. If it will go straight on a stock engine what is the safest shot i can add, its currently got 25, 50 and 70 bhp jets.
So any help would be great thanks.

before you get it done make sure you can get the gas easily, Ive had bikes with nos but after moving house had problems getting the stuff localy .

p.s you WILL  break your engine for sure but have fun doing it!!!  :) :(

its the zex dry type which is supposed to be safe???? what can i do to help sort this out?? and not blow the engine up?

Hello

My mate had nitrous on he's ford anglia 105E a few years ago he cracked 3 sets of pistons then he bought forged ones ?560 a set. No more cracked pistons just blown head gaskets nice. Very fast, small bank balance. 8)

nitrous will ALWAYS bugger your engine but you can pick the gas up cheaper from hospitals, its the laughing gas that they use.  Why not do some other bits first, like a chip, exhaust, cams etc.  or even look in to an engine conversion, G60, 2.0l, VR6, 20V etc.

the engine ive just put in is a conversion, it was a standard 1.3, it only had 4 gears.

i've been told that the engne will not go straight away, but slowly, is there any tell-tale signs that my engine is getting fu*ked and what parts do thet relate to.

i would love to get NOZ but wouldnt want to have to pay out all the time for new engines

noz wont kill your engine if you spend alot of cash on the computerised bits that regulate i

i think that its best to do all you can to your lump first mate to be honest

I would look into getting a super charge if I were you.  I dont know if you can fit them to a standard engine, I cant see why not though
