I went on a 400 mile round trip for my 8v, it pays to travel if its mint. When i spoke to the bloke on the phone i could tell it was a minter.

There are plenty if you look hard enough. The forums are the best resource for tidy cars.

I thought it would be an easy task to get a good one when looking on autotrader prior to selling my previous car. With them having galvanised bodies and german build quality, its a winning combination. Well, time is not on my side i need transport so it might have to be back to bmw as i previously had an e30 and a compact or an audi.

E30's are getting long in the tooth now, I would try and get a nice e36.

A lot of people say though that the 8v is better for every day driveability as the power is a lot lower down the revs.

people say this, but they're wrong.

Rubbish, no matter how you dress it up the 16v always has more power and torque than the 8v, there is no other way to put it.

+1 - But you don't need to rev the tits off the 8v to get the same effect.
