ok so i've never really been one to spend ages cleaning my car (usually just pay the poles/albanians etc) but the other weekend a mate offered to wash, clay, wash, polish and glaze my car for £20, so thought why not?
£20 later and the car looked a million times better, so figured id have to keep it looking good now.
i got a great deal from a mate at motorworld so bought AG car shampoo, AG SRP, AG DGP, AG window polish, and AG vinyl and rubber care.
i also have microfibre wash mitt, microfibre wash sponge, microfibre buffing cloth, microfibre glass cloth, lots cotton cloths, chammy leather and two buckets.
i washed the car using TB method and the wash mitt, then dried with chammy.applied SRP using cotton cloth, buffed off with MF buffing cloth. then applied AG DGP with fresh cotton cloth and off with MF buffing cloth.
it looks good, has a nice shine to it, but i have a few problems.
1) water marks - i dried the car as fast as i possibly could using chammy but still they remained.
2) Orange peel - its rather obvious now that the car has had a respray on everything bar the roof and bonnet, and the paintwork is rather orange peely.
ideas/suggestions on sorting these two problems? i really dont want to ( read- am not allowed by the mrs) buy anymore products, am wondering if there is anything i can do myself to sort this? i thought to combat the water marks, i could wash the car with the MF sponge, and dry with the MF wash mitt??
cheers guys!
