MK3 starter motor, are they all the same?

So yeah, my MK3 is officially dead for the minute until I replace the starter motor lol! I need to know whether I can use one from another MK3 other than the 1.8 or will I need a specific one?

Guessing but I would say that a 1.6 / 1.8 and 2.0 8V would be the same.

Just checked vagcat and they list 2 a 1.1kw and a 1.8kw.

I would think the bigger one is the one you need.

Yes I would say so, might be hard to see but old one should have a label on it with part number and specs.

I know a couple of local places that should have one if your stuck.

Yeah just down the road, could give them a call and see how much they are, I don't want to pay through the nose for it this is my problem, anything over £50 and that is too much for me
