Removing fuel Rail and Injectors
« on: 17 July 2009, 16:42 »
Hello guys

Got the intake manifold off (yey) however a little stuck with the fuel rail. Unbolted it all but unsure how to take it off or get the injectors out. Dont want to pull it and break something.

Any ideas?

If its a 8v digifant you're on about the injectors are just a push fit into the head, but you need to unbolt the metal brackets that hold the fuel rail in place. in addition the injectors are held into the fuel rail with clips.  hope that makes sence?

Can also be done with the inlet still attached. A bit of a squeeze but do-able on the 8v
:)

yep us an 8v, doing the head gasket so had to take the mani off anyway. Thought it would be easier to get the exhaust mani with the fuel rail out of the way.

Will give them a tug :)

Thanks for that worked a treat :)

Managed to get all the nuts off the exhaust mani apart from one :( just happens to be the one nearest the down pipe looks like its been semi rounded off not enough room to hammer a smaller socket on so looks like I am going to have to cut the nut with something. Drowned it in more Plus Gas so fingers crossed I can wedge an 11mm on there an prise it off.
