hello
« on: 16 July 2009, 22:54 »
hi there

New on here and new to golfs.

I'm looking at buying a rough 16v mk2 for daily use and hopefully a resto job when I'm rich and famous.  I have a budget of £1500 so I think it will be a struggle to find much.  But thats half th fun!  I'm fed up with newer cars riddled with electric this and that, which always seem to break and take forever to hunt down the fault.

Test drove a couple and they were fantastic, it surprised me how well the handle!  It didn't seem to understeer much for fwd.

Anyway hopefully I'll be able t o post on here soon and say I've bought one!

Russ

cheers guys.

Looks a good site, I'm going to have a search for some buyers' guides.

I'd like to keep the car as original as possible, although with my budget I will be buying a car with 'character' lol.  My friends technical term for a banger

Mate, £1500 should be plenty for a decent MK2. My 89 8V big bumper cost £500! OK it needs a little attention, but it's by no means a banger! (check my signature)

Check out pistonheads, some nice ones on there at the moment.

Hello btw!
