does anyone else not think this is all a bit of a con?  having only picked my car up earlier this month its now clear that from build week 45 they will have different (and better) lights at the back - surely the dealer should have told me this when i ordered/should be retrofitting these for free for me when they're available?

Course it is mate, but we cant do diddly squat about it.

i don't know whether cause its hot in my office, but i'm f7cking outraged at this.  i don't give a toss about keyless entry and ignition (i prefer having a key) but those lights are a marked improvement on the only 5 month old mk6 gti lights.  how can they justify changing them so quickly?  why not do it from the start?  i feel conned and f7cking livid.  do we know when these are available to get fitted as i'm gonna try and get my dealer to do it for free.  i didn't pay 27k for it to be out of date after less than a month!!

Give your dealer a ring and go nuts at him, they may give you a discount ? Or Phone VW customer care and see what they say. Then let us know what they say.
