Locked out of car....
« on: 15 July 2009, 00:25 »
Hi so i came home from work just fine locked up, and about 3 hours later my mate went out to get something from my car and the key just turns with no feel or heaviness and does nothing. I dont know if its a central locking problem or a lock barrel/issue with that particular lock.

The real sod is that the passenger door lock is already broken so i have no way of getting the car.

Is this something i need to call a locksmith for or is there something i can do, (i need to get to work tommorow.)

Boot. This happened to me the other week. Sounds like the barrel has snapped away from the holder is fits into in the handle. New handles from gsf time.

As above, try the boot lock.

i had the same problem with the lock, needed a new locking barrel which cost about 6 quid i think. Theres a metal hook on the end of the barrel that hooks onto the door mechanism, the hook had snapped off causing it just to spin, and you could even slide the barrel out of the door.
