fully atmospheric bov

i was lookin on youtube yesterday and found a video of a yellow 2003 anniversary 1.8t with a greddy bov! it sounds the nuuuuts!! i was thinkin to myself how did this guy put this bov on such a new engine without recieving any problems such as the cel or having the maf sensor play up up some guy who pretty much has the same views as us lot said this ' you're going to damage your engine with a BOV. you need a DV. get the 007p' and then another guy who seemed to know what he was on about wrote this.... ' You are misinformed about the BOV. As long as you are running software that allows for BOV's you are fine. The common problem with BOV's and running the stock VW ECU is that the MAF meters the air coming in and it knows that air your turbo already compressed is going come back into the intake and back down into the turbo again. By using a BOV the air is released, but the MAF doesnt read that. What you run into is running same amount of fuel for less air causing you to run rich. Aftermarket software takes this into consideration. I've seen BOV's on Unitronics, REVO, and GIAC files with no problems ' so im guessing with a re-map or a different ecu taking this into concideration you can run whatever dump vlave you want? even a non re-circulating one?

By all means get one but just a matter of time before you get fault codes mate IMO

i didnt think it was possible to use software on the factory ECU to get around that.. only way i've seen it working is on stand alone management.

yep me to toph stand alone isnt that expensive imo

I have a blow off valve on my car but its a AGU engine i know u can do it on this model but i dont think it will work to good on the newer models as they have more sensors
