vr6 problem need some advice
« on: 09 July 2009, 23:11 »
well i have mk3 vr6,its been lowered and i hit a pothole in the road a week or so ago, since then i have noticed a few problems with  the car firstly the steering wheel judders at around 55mph upwards you can feel it below this speed but not as shaky,2nd there is a sqealing from the drivers side wheel been told this is a wheel bearing? and lastly the steering has gone quite lite in feel when i turn left but quite hard when turning right when breaking the car squirms from side to side slightly not to much but still a concern,i have taken to a local garage he tells me the power steering rack has gone on one side so needs replacing, wheel bearing needs replacing track rod arm plus some rubber bushes, charging 550 for parts plus 270 ish for labour it seems like a lot to pay out but i need my car ,does this sound right any recomendations are gratley needed
thanks

quite expensive that, looks like your going to have to open your wallet and let the moths out

honestly tho, seems like alot of problems from just hittin a pot hole. I'd suggest u take it elsewhere or if the car is in need of the work doing, then its probably been knackered for awhile. or at least very worn. hope this helps  :undecided:
