Now you mention it, it does look a bit high. I'm surprised they let you drive it with the blocks still in place - not good for the suspension at all. Funny how UK dealers open all the boot lids on their forecourt cars :D

I expect to take delivery of a M6 GTi (my first VW so minimal prior knowledge of this car) by early/mid Sept. I would be interested in your views/experience of tyres for the Monza 18's, especially as other sites suggest problems with dunlop or Continental Sports contact 2's.

Also I would welcome any pointers to sites that specify which phones will pair with the VW bluetooth rSAP technology and/or alternative software that can be dealer/self installed that will work with the RCD510.

The GTIs I've looked at all had Continental Sport Contact 3s on. An excellent tyre.
I've got a pair of 2s and a pair of 3s and they are all hardwearing and seem fine in the wet and dry.

Got Dunlops on mine, they feel fine even though they don't seem to have many fans.

A dealer left the transport chocks in a demo car? FFS, they are tw@ts aren't they?

Tks to the members who have already commented on tyres which was prompted partly by my test drive last week. The test car I drove was also just off the transporter; turned out the harder than expected ride was partly because the transport chocks hadn't been removed. Dealer advised they won't remove until the car is PDI'd prior to on sale!

Find another dealer mate, that one is a knob!

I've got contact 2's on my car at present and I rate them really highly, they are brill in the wet and dry.  When I take delivery of my GTI next week they have contact 3's so I guess they'll be ok too.

mk6 i test drove was supposed to be DPB, but it looked strangely light.  turned out it was carbon grey!  happy to report its not greeny or bluey at all.  perhaps its all down to the light conditions/ camera?

Anyone got pictures of the transport chocks? Am curious why the dealers are not taking them out before delivering the car. See if there are pictures, one could claim damages if the dealership did not take them out and you drove off with them... I wonder legally who would be liable. The ignorant buyer or the all knowledgeable dealership...?

the dealer said that it was so new, they didn't have a chance to take them off.  they're yellow plastic things on the shocks.
