Buying a converted 1.8T Your opinions please

Righto as most of you know I converted my 2.0 8V engine for a 1.8T Aum engine,

However after the arrival of my baby girl i need an estate car rather than a 3 door mk4 my question is would you be put off buying my car knowing it's converted, the log book has  been updated on the engine number and cylinder capacity but in the model section it still says gti 115bhp this apparently cant be altered. when you bought your mk 4 would this make you run for the hills? And please be honest

Honestly, I would steer clear.  We know you did a good job of it, but no one else would be any the wiser.

On another note, buy Toph's 1.8T estate!!

Thats what im worried about i would steer clear myself  didnt know toph was selling it?

Your best bet will be to sell it to someone on the forum, or a place like Pistonheads where the buyers are a little wiser.

Not being funny, but you only did this 7 months ago! Didnt you know you was having a baby! 
Im afraid im the same as above, unless it was mega cheap id steer well clear.

On a brighter note Ive got a 10 week old boy and am getting on with my 3 door Golf fine

If i remember correctly we found out about the baby the day after I bought the Donor car (done a couple of tesco tests which said negative  ) But I still would have done the conversion anyway as the mrs has a leon so thought that was suitable, but we cant fit the baby all our stuff and the 2 dogs in the leon  som looking at changing the golf for a much bigger car so all the family inc dogs can go out

my sentiments exactly I would be like converted erm no thanks  doesnt help me sell it though  mmmm might have to break it up instead

Lets say it was some random bloke selling it on ebay. It wouldn't put me off, but i'd go over the thing with a fine toothed comb (i made the guy i bought the wagon from drive around while i did some data logging ) and i'd want to be paying well below the asking price for similar original 1.8Ts.

if putting the 2.0 back in is an option im sure you wouldnt have any problems selling a 1.8T engine.. you'll probably see the most money back that way
