Local company charges about £80 for a machine polish....is that good value and will it rid the car of swirls and light scratches at all?

thats probably all they will do for that price... no detailing, no valeting, no post process polishing etc... just a mop... and tbh it probably won't be done with much love

so you'd have to do all the prep beforehand otherwise they will attack your dirty car with a mop

That sounds way too cheap. I honestly wouldn't give my car to a "professional" only charging that amount, I think normally prices start from about £150, and even that is quite cheap.

I've just done a full Stage 2 detail and paint correction, and it was £425. For £80 they'll probably just use a mop and some coarse G3 abrasives which aren't really appropriate. That's what caused all the damage to mine in the first place and why I had to pay for a proper detail!

proper detailing session should last from 6-12 hours and cost from £150 to £400 easy! stay well away from the machine special £80 job!

polishing has absolutely nothing to do with washing. two completely different processes. a machine polish/paint correction session can leave you car in better condition that when it first came off the production line. How much does a re-spray cost??

Well, its all a bit late now as by the time Iv got my wheels sorted (which are next on the hit list) there wont be much of summer left. I will however be getting you down towards the end of spring next year to sort me out ;)
