Thats a very good idea, god knows how to set it all up though.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Ooops, I think I missed it if this is the one your talking about...

PRODUCTION NOTE - 9th July
* GTI production allocation for our VW dealers is now full, we do have another dealer still with some allocation but at a slightly lower discount than the deals shown below, ask for details

Interesting that they say they have a place even cheaper than whats advertised on their site.

If I dont get a good deal through my work when I order, then I think I'll use broadspeed, they have garages in Scotland so easier for me to get the car. What were they like when you talked to them

See my edit of my above post.

The guy I spoke to was very pleasant and as far as I could judge, quite genuine.  However, he said they no longer have a dealer in Scotland, as far as I remember.  (I wasn't that bothered because I could easily drive to England for a good deal.)  When I phoned, he asked me straight off if I was the person who had emailed the previous evening, and I said yes.  He explained that the last car at those prices had just gone, and said to refresh the screen - that's when I saw the note, originally dated 7th July - it's not there on the printouts I made on the evening of 6th July.

He said he would email me a quick note to make contact, and would I reply to it so that he had my contact.  He would then email me with an updated quote.  However, by the time I got home to pick up my email, I'd already stopped at the Verve garage and got such a good deal it wasn't worth driving to England after all.  So I replied to the email as requested, but with a note to say thanks a lot, but I'd actually got a local deal I was happy with.

I've since had another routine promotional email from them, that's all.

Note that they're saying the deal they can offer is a LOWER DISCOUNT - that is a higher actual price, than what is on the site.  It might still be decent value though.  That is, if Keelaw isn't getting the last of this bunch!

When I phoned I was answered immediately by a real human being, who knew about my email, so I guess they're not a huge outfit.  Might be just one or two people.  I have a web hosting company like that and their service is fantastic.  Of course I don't know, but the conversation I had seemed to be with someone genuine, intelligent, and not a conman.

Rolfe.

am waiting for a call back from my dealer as i can't believe the lead time i'm having to put up with - so thanks for the kick up the ar7e chaps!!  hopefully he can push it through quicker!

as you're talking about discounts, i know its tight out there but you will get some if you haggle - i got my gap insurance (£500), my safeguard (in and out of car) cover and also the winter pack all chucked in for free - so drive a hard bargain and you'll get some money off!!

dealer called me back, said until the order has been in place for 16 weeks (I ordered it on 4th May 09) there isn't much he can do in terms of chasing it with VW - unfortunately there isn't any cars in actual production at the moment with the same spec as mine but i wouldn't want that anyway as i would feel like i was nicking one off someone else!  so as its only been 10 weeks guess i'm just gonna have to wait!  he did say that once it hits the production line they do move pretty quick so fingers crossed!  thanks for all your help though chaps!
