Roof leaking
« on: 25 August 2004, 14:26 »
Hi
Recently bought my cab. They've always stored it in the garage but I don't have one. The heavy rain is causing water to enter at the top left and right where the clamps are to hold it down. The mohair roof is in good condition at these points and the seals look fine. What can I do? I guess a car cover would be a start?
Help  :(

Debsie - you would be better off putting this question in another section. Either Mk 1 or cosmetic. Or go straight to the Cab owners like AdamB or Vicky (vixteris) Diane (Dinx) gibby. plus loads more. If none of those dont respond from the Mk 1 section i will be most surprised.

Get a car cover sooooon as the weather looks to be turning real nasty, you don't want a wet interior :)

As for leakage I cant really help you sorry!  How about this though:  Thoroughly dry the area inside and out, then pour water from a jug steadily untill you see water start to get in, then pull the roof off and look at the join for wet bits, might give you a clue how the water is getting in?
