Radiator Fans
« on: 08 July 2009, 16:09 »
After all the problems I have had with my car this morning I have had to put the car back inot the garage as the engine managment light has come on again. After they had a look at it they have now said it is slave fan to the main radiator that has gone wrong now and will be another £145!!

After only getting it back last week with the problem off the main radiator fan this seems a bit strange that the other fan has gone so soon!!

Any advice on this?

they should have replaced both fans at the same time...

i had a problem with the small fan not working, so the large fan came on to to compensate all the time and it sounded like a jet engine it was so loud

they replaced both fans at the same time, does not make sense to change just one when they are so closely connected to one another.

take it back to them and tell them they should have changed them both together! so its not your fault

it is a common problem with mk5gti I have seen a number of topics come up on forums about this over the past year.
