Hello from newbie nursing Mk5 back to health
« on: 08 July 2009, 11:10 »
Just a quick hello,
Bought a 2005 black three door Mk5 a few weeks ago for a good price as it needed quite a bit of work;
Monza II's were wrecked- curbed and white wormed,
a few dings and knocks to body work,
Brakes shot- potentially pads and disks,
ECU light on,
Air con not blowing cold,
2 bald tyres,
Needs No4 service and cambelt,
Etc!!?

A good little project to take on; after many hours I've done most of the work with some odds and ends left to do.
Wheels refurbed and looking gooorgeous, Brakes replaced all round, Air con recharged and blowing ice cold, No4 service done (so it's now got full service history), cam belt and water pump replaced, new tyres fitted.
Spent a lot of hours on the body work 'cos I'm pretty fussy and it's looking good, got a couple more bits to tackle then detail. ECU still to sort but i've had it on the laptop and have a plan (ouch ££££).

So, I found myself a Golf that was feeling especially sorry for itself and now (with my blood sweat and tears) is getting nursed back to health!

Pics to follow!

Really good forum by the way, some excellent advice and info on here.

Cheers everyone

Wow good job, and before and after pics?

I've got no before pictures as they got deleted from my laptop, incredibly frustrating to say the least, but there will be completed pics to follow soon.

Cheers
