Window tints from B pillars back
« on: 04 July 2009, 16:20 »
Hi guys have been studying photos taken by mark 6 owners and it seems to me that the window tinting on the back windows is very light, is this the case or is sunlight or flash photography making it so?

I will be carrying ankle biters in the back of mine and would preferably like to keep the sun at bay any ideas on price of darker tints??

They're pretty dark, i'd say 60% tints similar to the Scirocco.

I saw a 3 door mk6 Golf yesterday (not GTi tho) they had window tints from the B pillar back and even my misses as well as me thought they wasn't very dark what so ever!!
It also had the horrible looking black seal underneath it like the early mk5 GTi's!

I think subtle tint looks much better than blacked out windows imo,too much looks abit boy racer/drug dealerish.I was chatting to a mate who has a mk6 and he said when he ordered he did not realise the windows were tinted untill it arrived and he did`nt really like the tint it was to dark from o/s.
Golfgti build quality is average at best.

Funnily enough this morning I have seen a silver gti and yeah the tints look quite dark enough!!

Apologies to all you silver gti owners or prospective owners but imo it doesn't look too great in the silver!!  Was looking on the German website and the amount of paint jobs available to them is amazing about 10 shades of blue the same in green and there is a purple colour to die for

It would pay VW to allow us UK buyers more choices.
