AUM + k03s FTW... oh hang on, didn't mine come with a K03s already bolted on...ahem... :lipsrsealed:

As for the mk4 1.8T, they have quite a few minor electrical things that tend to go wrong, but are generally easily & cheaply fixed, plus they are all "known" problems and thus easy to find and rectify.

As for the engine itself, they are indeed bomb-proof, as long as they are looked after and serviced well then you shouldn't see any catastophic problems tbh.

i would agree with ivormk4 and say there tempremental. never had these probs with any of my cars, although my mk2 and 3 golfs were also tempremental, however i love the car and the drive so thats why i still have the golf  :smiley:

I'd still pick a Mk4 over a CTR, though! ;)

Totall agree with the bomb proof statement, although i would hve the CTR over the Mk4 golf every time. In saying that i do like my golf, just think the CTR is better :)
