1. Pics
2. Did you need any extra cables/fudging of equipment?

Pics:

Install was easy. Didn't need to do any choping of cables or ends. Just unscrewed the square connectors on the cables and they went in fine. Added some tape to make them secure in case they did decide to move. Took 20minutes.

Transferring music is taking forever!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've noticed it takes longer to copy from DVD so im sticking with the SD card to transfer music to HDD. But even that is slow!

One thing i've noticed is that the fan on the back of the unit seems to stay on all the time. Is this normal?

I read somewhere that the fan stays on for about 20 mins after the unit is switched off.

Something thats bugging me is this!
I've created a folder called "Trance" on the HDD. I put in the SD card loaded with trance tunes. I navigate to the SD slot and click options then "copy". It then asks me for a location. I select the "trance" folder on the HDD. It copies the tracks over BUT it doesnt just put the tracks in that folder. It creates a sub-folder in the "trance" folder and puts the tracks in there. Then i have to indivilally copy each track to the "trance" folder which is a pain!!!!

I dont want it to create sub-folders within the folders i want it to copy the music to!

Isnt there anyway for it to just copy the stuff over from the SD card to the folder of choice without it auto creating a sub-folder called "SD copied..." ?

EDIT: How do i check on the system what version of the map its got installed?

Create a folder called Trance on the SD card, put the tunes in that, select that folder name on the screen, then select copy, then insert here and it will copy the folder Trance and its contents into the root of the hdd. If you want to add more to that folder than will fit on the SD card, keep the same folder name, and fill it with more tracks and it will add to the one already on the HDD

If its running the older firmware

Use the hidden test menu, to access you need to enter the car, put key in ignition till nav screen starts coming on Manufacturer logo, then press and hold setup button for 20 - 30 seconds, or until the full Hidden set up menu screen comes up

If that doesn't work then you will need to enable the hidden menu using VAGCOM

Im sure i tried this but it gave me the option of either replacing, renaming or something else.
