Another dealership moan!

Bought my car at the end of Jan this year....well,to be honest I wanted to buy it on the first of Feb to get a full months worth of tax.Sales guy wanted to flog it in Jan for his commission and when I raised the issue of the tax and that I didn't want it to startfrom the first of Jan to only get one or two days benefit he told me not to worry,they'd tax it from the first of Feb. Of course they didn't....and even after pointing this out and sending a copy of the disc to them.....nothing,no apology or refund.Bloody annoying.Ok its only £17.50 but still...its the damn principle as they say!!!

yep, and thats how i felt today, if they promised something you should get it, otherwise its the same as the packaging of something as simple as crisps stating "inside this pack there is a 10p discount voucher for your next puchase of the same crisps" but when you open it, there's just crisps. Now, nobody complains about 10p but it said you'd get it, but you didn't!

so the end product is not what you expected which makes unhappy customers like you and me. Complaining about it and not having anyone take you seriously makes people even more upset and is what creates serial killers!!!

Quite simple answer here - name and shame the relevant dealer and complain to both the Dealer Principle and VW Customer Services. Don't moan or procrastinate - DO IT

If you don't get satisfaction, write to What Car/Auto Express and complain to their consumer champion. How many other people have been shafted before you ?

Are there legal reasons why we dont have a name and shame section on the site? or would that just be bombarded by too many entries and screw the capacity on the database?

I think there have been issues with other forums using a list of 'less than reputable' dealers.

Perhaps it would be better to have a list of 'recommended' dealers?

Yep we all know the good guys section. I guess it becomes err liablious? Or something if we formally state our views in a public forum without givng the stealer an opportunity to reply? Still think it would a bloody good idea to black list b@rstewards even to the point of naming them!!! Lol no doubt this would be a can of worms :-) maybe it's the way it is for the best!

ScoobyNet fell victim to this issue - despite these being public BBS (and putting up the usual statements "opinions expressed"etc etc), you CANNOT post what you want.
The "other" party has every right to sue both the poster AND the website admin for liable and defamation of character etc etc....

MUCH better to have a "Good Guys" section "wink:

I know we all want to vent and express our rage at being on the end of a wrong-doing, but you've got to be very careful these days.

These days it seems you cant even twitter without some twitter taking offence.

I wonder how the holiday watchdog sites, such as tripadvisor cope...lol...they totally rip the p1sh out of various hotels and tour operators 

Lets face it if we listed every main dealer and all rated them accordingly, we would end up with only independents to go to (not that this would be a bad thing, mind you). I like the idea of a national score carding system whereby Customers score the services of a stealer on all aspects of the deal, from sales, to service, support and back to trade in etc. Though it would probably NOT looked upon as a vehicle for improving the over all quality of the dealerships on offer rather as a forum for witchunters.

Update guys....Just had a call from the sales manager who was,I have to say,perfectly civil and understanding and on my side. He's looking into sending a cheque for the lost month or something to make it right.In the event they can't raise a cheque (Not sure why they wouldn't but hey!) what should I ask for as a gesture to the approximate value of £17.50? Stupid answers just as welcome as serious ones!!! Might as well have a laugh out of it?!
