Why is the Mk5 the best?

The old crocks don't do it.  My Alfasud was a better sports hatch than the Mk1 VW GTI.
The Mk2 was a lardy old lady cf the mk1.
Mk's 3 & 4 were poor (even in V6 garb).
The Mk5 was good.
So good it was taking sales from Audi.
The new GTI is not a good looker.  It is designed to make Audis look better.

If you have a Mk5 GTI (even a coloured in ED30) then keep it.  It might not get any better.

Oh and so good it was taking sales from Audi??? They are all part of the same group  :grin:

The 1 series Beemer is appraently one of the best handling acrs on the road... Especially in that 330 and 335i platform.
