to hire santa pod would could an absolute fortune,  maybe we should get along to a track day or get some more interest in the strip at vw action  8)

Im not seeing the point tbh, the figures speak for themselves! standard valvers pack a lot more punch than 8v's, with the close ratio box they come with they are bound to be quicker surely!!! unless someone can give me a reason why not?

When we have a situation like this (while street racing) we do whats called a mark-up, Both drivers aggress just how faster the bigger car is, Then the slower car is given a head start, Takes some practice, But if done right it puts the race right down to driver skill above all.

Persionally i dont see the point in a 8V vs 16V race, Its a like a 1.3 C vs 1.6 Driver race, Its obvious who is gonna come out on-top

these mark 2s are 10 years+ old now.  some have been looked afte and some have been ragged good and proper.  my reasons behind wanting to see them on the strip is cos theres bound to be some 8v's better tuned and mantained than 16v and also vice versa.

therefore imo its not obvious whos gonna come out on top.  will be fun watching the 16s fail though  :D

I think they are - but if we could sort something it would be a good giggle !

I was quite shocked @ some of the rolling road figures from the AMD day with stock 8v's out doing 16v's. As Vix said there's alot more to this than figures quoted by VW for power output, not everyone's will be well mantained or 100% standard ... So lets sort something out !!!

Imagine though - all this talk and then there's a few upsets  ;D

(Gav where are you matey - I'm still waiting for a go at the G60  ;D )
