Yep it used to be...will the mk5 accessories brochure still apply though?

I got mine with a non functioning retro fitted cruise control. Vw wanted £220 to fit despite pointing to the brochure. "that's for retro fitting sir, yours is fitted and not working... We don't know what we will find!" lol they wanted my car for three days too ha ha ha

guys in a local Indy fixed it for free and in 5 minutes! A simple coding issue ! Gotta love the stupidity/ ignorance of some main stealers.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

Damn, it's a shame I've given the go ahead for VW to fit!!
If they don't have your car yet, you can still cancel...

I'm currently driving a MK6 Golf ... 1.4 ... Courtesy of VW. Though to be honest, I'm not sure there's actually an engine under the bonnet. It hit's 60 when I go downhill.

As you'll have guessed, it's being fitted as we speak. Thought I'd get it done whilst having the infamous rattles attended to. I did ring them today and apparently they can't replicate the door rattles, hope that doesn't mean they won't try fix it!!

Non functioning = was inoperable = broken = fooked :-)

retro fitted = post factory install = dealer fit/ 3rd party = reason for post

On mine a previous owner clearly got a 3rd party to install cruise and didn't have vagcom or had enough knowledge to figure it out.

tWas a simple matter of changing a field from a 0 to a 1.

Cruise Control has been fitted, and works a treat.

I did ask about steering wheel controls, I was told I can't have it?!?!?! That makes no sense at all. I'm going to fit smarties on the wheel and pretend it was always there!

Ryan, why did they say mfsw can't be retro fitted? I think there were some versions of a control module that were not compatible, was that it?

You should be able to retro-fit MFSW, but depending on the car you may be unlucky and have to change the steering control module ECU.

They said, "unfortunately you can't have the steering wheels controls on your car. You might be able to get a retro fit, but we wouldn't recommend that" ... I asked why, they couldn't give me an answer. I don't understand enough about this kind of thing to have been able to ask more questions about it.

Why would I need to change the wheel? Do you know of any way I could get this done? Sorry for all the questions, it's my first VW so I'm still learning the car etc.

Cheers
