Il get a good quote even if it kills me

well you won't really get a good quote will you mr young and extravagant?  i think my premium for my GTi was £350 fully comp on mine with a £150 excess... wonder what it would be for a mk6... oh hold on... i don't care! I know it will be cheaper than yours and I get to save my money and spend it having fun with old cars instead! muchos satisfaction!

i just got a quote on one,  cheaper than the rest, but i do have a 10 inch cock

mine is cheaper and bigger than yours!

This thread is quite interesting as it reminds me of the days when I used to work at an Insurance Company....  you guys shouldn't underestimate how many young people there are on our roads driving some real high performance cars!

I worked at Endsleigh Insurance between 1994 & 1998, and we specialised in Student Insurance.  Being the entreprenuerial type I visited all of Cambridge's overseas student colleges and struck up a few contacts which resulted in some of the following real policies which I won in the 4 years I worked there.  These are just some of the extreme ones, there were plenty of sub £10k annual premiums which aren't even worth mentioning as there were too many to mention.  Have a gander at some of these:

18 y/o female, Foreign Student, Brand New BMW Z3 3.0:  Premium £13,500.  Excess £5k
18 y/o female, Foreign Student, Brand New TVR Griffith 500:  Premium £17,500.  Excess £5k
18 y/o male, Foreign Student, Brand New BMW M3 Evo 3.2 Conv:  Premium £22,000. Excess £10k
18 y/o male, Foreign Student, Brand New BMW M5:  Premium £25,000.  Excess £20k
21 y/o male, Foreign Student, Brand New Ferrari F355:  Premium £50,000.  Excess £50k

All of these were underwritten by Insurance GB & St Pauls International (not sure if they are still going these day?!)

And by the way, each and every one of these policies was paid up in FULL by the individual's who took out the policies!  Most of these were the son's and daughters of mega-rich oil and gas Tycoon's, mainly coming over from the Russian bloc countries!

It really is mind boggling when you start thinking about it!

Why is this mind boggling?
What is mind boggling is that Abramovich has built his third yacht, biggest in the world, 170 meters in length, with 2 helicopters and a submarine.
Country's wealth was stolen and is continued to be stolen by people connected at the top. Russia was on 174th place out of 180 in some survey on corruption.
What is mind boggling is that a young punk that worked for Russian government (in the prosecutor's office, or something like that) got drunk, got in the car, killed a woman, tried to escape, and when he finally crashed the car he unscrewed the number plates and took them with him and tried to disappear. Thanks to some people who saw this barsteward he got caught. And you know what? He only got 4 years probation....  :lipsrsealed:

I fu.k.ng hate these "foreign students", because I come from Russia, I know how bad it can be for normal people

Is it just me or is the mk6 section full of cocks? Lets wave our dicks everyone. All together now :undecided:

Just checked the MK5 section and we werent like this when the mk5 came out. Get over it guys.

Das Auto - Im impressed that you can afford this vehicle on your own. Im in a similar boat.

I want to buy (Cash - If you have to pay off a car you cant afford it IMO) a Audi 2.8 Litre A4 Avant. Or a 1.8T (2000 to 2003 models). The insurance companies refuse to give me a quote because Im 18. Those that do claim that a 1.8T is a "performance" car and the 2.8 is a "sports" car and this results in myself getting billed heavily. Nevermind its parked in a locked garage. With electrical fences and close circuit cameras watching it??

The best suggestion I can make is to get yourself onto your parents (or company) insurance. I cant do this as we have the Porsche, GTI, 6 superbikes and all 10 of our work vehicles on the same insurance. Apparently the insurance we have cannot take another vehicle so unless one of our vehicles gets written off Im screwed.

What about things like GAP insurance etc? How are they different to other types of insurance?

Good luck mate! And ignore the guys here who WILL have issues with you owning a mk6 GTI. I have friends who are 18 that drive BMW M3's, Audi RS4's and R32's. And they have paid for them themselves.

Hey Chuff

Take a look at the MK5 section... The new owners went through the usual (Mk4 is better/Its a facelift) but the MK6 guys here are just plain rude and as has been said. Theres a crap atmosphere here.

Sorry. I didnt realise that form of insurance was illegal in the UK. In South Africa and on our policy we have a variety of vehicles on one insurance policy with different drivers. I cant expect my sales rep to pay the insurance on a company car or have the insurance in his name... I guess the UK sees things differently
