im 20, buying a gti or sirocco in the near future and have been quoted around 1700. i have 1 years no claims and 2 years driving experience no crashes or anything. put your parents on even if they dont drive. reduced mine thousands.

Right, Das Auto. Iv'e just gone on www.confused.com and done an insurance quote on a brand new MK6 Golf GTI (210bhp) worth £25,000 based in Croydon (South London, which isnt a very good location for insruance) with me being 19 years old with 2 years NCB and I also stuck a dad who is 45 years old. Thats fully comp.

Elephant would insure this for £3,887.30 with a £600 excess.

Apreciate that but if u go onto the quote on elephant website the car will come up as Golf N/A not Golf gti

Have you tried phoning them?

See if anyone in your family would be willing to insure you on an Admiral Multicar policy.  It is seriously cheap if you have more than one car.  Of course, in your case cheap will be relative but you get my drift...

if you look hard enough and i do mean hard enough there are companies which will insure. im 100% sure of this especially with 2 years no claims - if this is genuine. so be it it may be around 4-6k pound

£220 ? I highly doubt that unless you have something silly like a £800 excess.

I'm 35 and have been driving almost 20 years with 13 years NCB and get £380-ish with I think £250 excess.
