Spray-painting bumper strips

Which spray-paint is best for doing the bumper strips? it'l be a DIY job obviously. i have access to halfords and hycote, any others??

any help much appreciated!!

halfords paints not to bad tbh tho you will need some of their plastic primer first to spray onto the bumper strips before applying the basecoat

i used hycote and it worked great, looks like new.

really important to go over the are with some kind of primer or selyelose thinners, just to get any wax or oily greasy residue off it first. but i'm sure you prob would anyway

cheers mate, the guy that had the car before me just hadn't looked after it at all. i'm going to go around and do all the black trim when the weathers good. Did the spoiler above the rear window yesterday. car is starting to look the way i want it. got a long way to go!! lol

One thing i will say is clean them properly before painting! (I used vinegar, tar remover and white spirit before i painted my skirts) otherwise the paint wont stick due to the no doubt ton of silicon on them!!

paint thinners or any decent solvent should clean them up ok ready for priming

Thinners is good stuff as is brake and clutch cleaner (and comes in lemon fresh)

Just a thought, but if you just want them to look black and not colour coded then you can either re-polymerise them with a hairdryer or use linseed oil. I have heard that smooth peanut butter works too but I haven't tried this myself.

Any tips for getting the paint off? Mine have peeled really badly - there's more unpainted bumper than painted bumper now. I've had a go with a stanley knife blade which is fine on the straight bits, but not very nimble in the curves!
