hey all... car just cut out and wont start... have a read please :)

as above really...
wrapped the car the other day... luckily only body work, so new slam panel/front panel/wing/head lights...
now the car seemed to be driving fine so thought id got away well..
however the car just stalled today and wont start again...?
now the car has been surging (revving then almost stalling) alot lately which im in the middle of finding the problem...!
could this be coil pack as it has had another one on a couple of months ago as i dont see why it suddenly would conk?
could it be a bump stop kind of thing that cuts the fuel off in a crash that has just decided to kick in??
sorry if im missing something or talking sh!t but im having the worst week ever, i lost a cat under anaesthetic on wed and then the crash and now this... just getting to me:(

Dunno about the car if its had a shunt id check the dizzy cap for cracks and any connections to the starter motor for ware and tare

It may be electrical seeing as the lights are fooked you might have a bad earth...

is it ticking over  on start or just totally dead?

right ok...
got it back home...
the coil has died... again!!
i used my gf 1.4 polo coil and it got back but was misfiring like a bastard, lol
so gonna get a coil off the scrappy on tuesday!!
i hope its not ganna misfire with the proper coil on it!!
what do ya reckon could cause the coil to go twice in 2 months??

as far as the cat... yeah, was gutted!!
but it was an embolism after the anaesthetic in an elderley patient, so kind of expected but still gutting...
first one in 5 years of the job
