gti body parts
« on: 11 June 2009, 21:22 »
hello there
as i am a new driver i wanted a gti but could not afford to insure it so settled for a 5 door 1.4. i still want a gti but its going to happen . ive searched for somehwere which sells either copyies or original gti parts which can be put on to a stanard golf but with no luck. does such thing even excist?
ive search local scrap yards ect but all the gti parts have already been taken.
has any one got any ideas?
im lookign for things such as the side skirting, fog lights, wheel arch trim, mud flaps, rear spoiler ect
any help appreciated
cheers

Your best option is s/h, new they are silly money, you cannot fit the gti rear spoiler without changing the glass as it bolts through.

I think you could use the spoiler from a Golf Driver as I believe they were stuck on with adhesive. I could be wrong though! Or cut the studs off the GTI spoiler and stick it on with adhesive!

I would scour eBay for them if I were you but be careful buying the sill covers as they tend to rust and finding good ones second hand may not be easy!

New side skirts / trims only cost £22.99 each from the VW dealers anyway.

Maybe but when I priced a wheel arch last year I was quoted £105 each, to buy all the side skirts new you looking at well over £100 per side as in total your looking 4 parts.
