Dizzy cap Probs

Im not exactly perfect with cars but the other day i played about with the HT leads not thinking about what i done.

Today i try and start the car and the engine doesn't start well doesn't tick over is there an order in which the HT leads should go on the dizzy cap and main head

I have a 1.8 GTI 8v and im finally getting it on the road this weekend and i can't wait. Any help would be much appreciated

yes there is an order. its 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 as in


                                     0-1
                                2-0  0-3
                                  4-0
             
                      on the dizzie cap

makes a funny noise if you get them wrong

now its working again THANKYOU V much for the help but now i still have that horrible with the oil buzzing when i go past 2500rpm
