Have you lost EVERY SINGLE punctuation key from your keyboard?!

It sounds like an intermittant bad earth to me - check the earths to the battery, from the engine to the body, including the strap that should go from the back of the head to the back of the engine bay and also the little basket of earth connections up under the dashboard, above the fusebox.

Take the ones in the engine bay off and clean them and inspect them for damage.

Visually inspect the ones under the dash and give them all a wiggle to make sure they have good contacts.

Sadly, unless you're prepared to go and poke about with it yourself, or take it to a proper specialist you're unlikely to get the problem solved - your car isn't one most mechanics are familiar with these days.

From your pirate name it appears you're female.  I suggest you act cute and flatter some of the guys on here.  They may well be your best bet.

I have got a few lads that are friends and know a bit about cars and they have looked briefly and told me to ask on a vw forum. So if anyone has got any answers then i could get my friends to check it out. I love my little golf and just want it to run like it was before. like i said a few bits have been changed im waiting for a ignition module thingy to arrive and im hoping that this will sort it out becouse i bought 1 from a well known retailer plugged it in and the car started ran like it should but then stalled and when my friend checked it the part was red hot and the car wouldnt start so he thought that it might have been 4 a differant golf.so hopefully when this other part comes from the scrap yard it should be ok cos its from the same year and the same engine. have to wait and see :undecided:
