cold air feed
« on: 05 June 2009, 14:43 »
Got a cold air feed pipe ready to go on my modded airbox.... but Which is best, Get the pipe fitted to the box, or have the pipe directing to the box. (plz note i've removed the original air feed pipe from in the box, and i've got mesh fitted inside it now.)

I know u guys are sick to death of this air box thread, but I want it to be right and especially do not want water going in my engine through airbox.....

I'm routing the cold feed pipe from behind the front grill below fog lights. on my 8v gti.

Many thanks and sorry if u r sick of me already  :lipsrsealed:

yes route it from where you suggested, if you want to do it properly then you'll need these http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=75191.0

I see, I'll have to get some really Fine mesh for the duct then, I dont want any water in it. especially as its gunna be sucking the air from behind the grill. where its exposed to alot of rain, puddles etc....

This picture is taken from the bumper vent thread posted above. This how i did my ducting (i even ordered the exact same ducting from Ebay) although i opted to fit the air temperature sensor in the corner of the centre opening to the right of the vent in this picture. More discreet imo.

looks the bees knees, did u have the other end of the duct pointing towards your air filter or did u have it connected to the air box? (thats ashuming u have a air box mod) instead of the induction filters.
