I an attempting to start a 2.0 conversion on my valver, I can get hold of an "ACE" Engine code audi lump, What is the difference between this and the 6a lump?? will it accept a Kjet conversion. Thanks, Stu.

ACE is a short block with an ABF head on it, but its still k-jet in some cases so has a lame inlet cam, but has abf zaust cam.

block itself appears to have different part # to 9a/6a, but it has the same pistons and conrods

Hmm I had kinda thought the ACE Code would just be the transverse ABF But it is the Shorter block with the later head??
if i was to purchase a 6a engine instead would it come with the ribbed lower crankshaft pulley so I can run the later PAS/Alternator set up?? Sorry to be a pain but i wanna do it in one go and people ask a fortune for ABF Bottom pulleys!!

I did think this myself, but yeah it has 6a/9a rods so it must be a short block I recon :(
not sure on the ribbed pullies thing, possible a later 6a will have the mk3 pulley but I cant say for sure on that one.  I have found crank pullies before for reasonable money but it can take a while! If it was me I would wait for a complete ABF lump :)

edit: are you anywhere near bracknell/reading? theres 2 abf mk3s in a1 car spares in wokinham
