rear fog light problem

well ma mk2 failed m.o.t today on the flippin rear fog light everything else was mint tryed everything i can changed bulb, checked wires fuses etc still nothing any help please as retest is this saturday thanks

Have you checked for power at the bulb.

if you mean fog switch everythin seems alrite there light comes on switch, ill check power with a power probe later thanks  :smiley:

Without teaching you how to suck eggs, you have tested it with the headlamps on havn't you, after replacing the bulb?

Me too! :D

I would get the voltmeter out and starting at the bulb work back to see where you're loosing power.

My bet is it’s either the wiring or the switch. I seem to find 9/10 electrical probs on a mk2 are wiring related (I guess it is 20 odd years old now), next things to go are usually the switches

This may sound ridiculous but I thought mk2's have a lamp holder position for the fog in both sides However one is unused, usually blanked by the light backing, which I may add is removeable.

Your not by any chance trying the wrong side upon which someone has removed the blanking bit in the past are you and it happens to be the other side!?

Mine had this problem last year, i went outside, stuck a bulb in and it still didnt work, i wiggled the bulb about in the holder it came on and has been fine for over a year
