car boiling over

hi can anyone help me ive just changed the water pump and now the fan wont kick in and its boiling over any help would be much appreciated thanks

Have you checked the thermostat  :undecided:

sounds like its air locked to me mate....
however worst case is that if you have been running round with a knackered pump on for a while it could have done the head gasket .and now the new pump is fine the preasure thats caused is finding the next weakest point in the system e.g the head gasket.

try filling it up with water and squeezing the pipes to radiator with the coolant res lid off and let it run to temperature see if this cures the air lock problem.

also check the big plug on back fan ? fuses for fan might be something as simple as that...

ive checked everything and it seems to be the fan switch in the radiator as theres no white stuff in the dipstick to suggest blown head gasket well hopefully its that also would the thermostat cause the car to heat up quick if its knackered sorry to be a pain in asking you all but i aint got aclue with vws and everytime i have a problem you guys come to my rescue

have a read of the coolant faq, covers how to test the stat, fan, switch and also how to bleed the system

blown fuse cause one of my previous car rad fan to stop working.. wont tell u what car it was tho lol :-) I'm embarresed lol
