Suspension repair?
« on: 15 August 2004, 19:01 »
Guys anybody know of anywhere that I can get my suspension repaired as I'm reluctant to pay for a new set after spending way too much for the set which I have.

They're Spax coilovers bought 2nd hand and the nsr shock is leaking.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Ian

First stop must surely be the company you bought them from - do they not have a garauntee? Spax may even be interested to hear what has happened with their product. Worth a shot.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

The "company" I bought them from is the problem.

I bought them 2nd hand online from a guy from Manchester.  Didn't notice any leakage when I picked them up but obviously the MOT guy knows better than I do.

Hmmm, second-hand! Not much of a comeback really. Might be worth taking them off and pulling it a part yourself then. You may notice something obviously wrong. If you have a friend who is a mechanic, they may be able to help. This is the problem with buying second hand bits - occasionally you may get stung! Hope you can fix it, but I think it you may have to replace it.

Trouble with buying a replacement is that I aren't entirely sure that the ones which I bought are originally from a mk2 golf as the rear coilovers had to be spaced at the bottom using washers so that they sat as they should.

So really need somebody who repairs them so that I don't get a mis-match as such.
